Kunshan to Become World's Largest Glass Fiber Manufacturing Base

On May 2, 2008, Nanya Plastics, the subsidiary of Formosa Plastics Group, kicked off its third stage furnace at the PFG Fiber Glass (Kunshan) plant. The accumulated annual capacity for all three furnaces adds up to over 110,000 tons, putting Kunshan on pace to become the largest E-glass fiber manufacturing base globally.

Nan Ya and PPT to Obtain Additional Orders from Microsoft

This year, Microsoft will release its 65nm manufacturing process chips, named Jasper, in August. Microsoft, is expected to increase orders to Nan Ya and PPT in the second quarter of 2008 by nearly 50% from that in the first quarter.

Iteq Generated NT $235M Profit after Tax for Q1

Taiwan-based CCL maker Iteq released its report for the first quarter, registering NT $3.402 billion revenue, up 20.28% from same period last year. The company generated NT $235 million profit after tax, up 17% from that in the first quarter in 2007.

Unimicron Posted NT $809M Net Profit for Q1

PCB maker Unimicron reported its first quarter results last week of NT $11.076 billion revenue with NT $1 billion profit before tax. Net profit was NT $809 million after tax while the gross profit rate was 18%.
