Cirexx Installs Third Excellon Cobra Laser Machine
January 17, 2017 | Cirexx InternationalEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Cirexx International has acquired and installed a third Excellon Cobra laser machine. The new machine is a hybrid laser and is equipped with both CO2 and UV laser technology. It is designed to drill holes, rout profiles and micro-machine fine features in printed circuit boards and specifically flex circuits. The machine comes with the upgraded controller, latest software, high speed intelligent scanners, and variable power high pulse energy lasers.
Mike Sparidaens of Excellon said, "Cirexx currently has the largest installation of Cobra Lasers with three units in one manufacturing facility. Excellon has partnered with Cirexx since the 1980s and are extremely pleased with the addition of a third COBRA Hybrid UV and CO2 laser system. We look forward to being part of Cirexx's technology roadmap for many years to come."
Philipp Menges, Cirexx President/CEO, commented, "While we use these Cobra lasers for many features on PCBs, they are primarily a critical component of our commitment to the continued development of flex circuit technology. And we realize that there are several alternatives for this type of equipment we do not consider anyone but Excellon. The quality of their machines means to me that they will be running like workhorses without downtime. Add the outstanding service that we receive from Mike and the Excellon crew and we have a true win-win."
