murrietta_logo200.jpgAndrew Murrietta, CEO of Murrietta Circuits, announces his company has again been recognized as an outstanding Raytheon supplier. After receiving their second 5 Star award earlier this year, another Raytheon division, Space and Airborne Systems, awarded Murrietta their 3 Star Supplier Excellence Award. The annual award was instituted to recognize suppliers who have provided excellent service and exceeded customer requirements. Candidates were judged on a variety of criteria, such as overall quality, timeliness of delivery, and a basic mission for constant improvement.

Raytheon’s Annual Supplier Awards program is a way to applaud suppliers who have provided outstanding service, and dedicated partnership. The award is based on certain criteria, including overall quality, on-time delivery, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Sharon Waddell, Murrietta’s Raytheon account manager, received the award commenting, “On behalf of everyone at Murrietta Circuits, I am pleased and honored to not only receive this award, but also for the opportunity to be partners with such a great company as Raytheon. Thank you so much.”

“This never gets old, “added Murrietta, “I can say once again that this is a complete team effort and this honor belongs to everyone--and I mean everyone--on the Murrietta team. I also want to say we are very honored to be working with such a great American company as Raytheon.”

Being a quality professional today is nothing like it was 20 or 25 years ago; on a personal level, I can attest to this fact. It is no longer adequate to appoint a quality manager simply based on a person’s command of acceptance criteria and industry specifications; in the 21st century, a truly hybrid executive is needed.

Weiner’s World – June 2017

On the way back from Hong Kong last week I had the good fortune of meeting an officer of Allegro Microsystems and enjoyed a wide ranging discussion with him. One of the "take home" items was concern about an expanding shortage of rare earth metals used to make ICs for the burgeoning automotive sensor market. The second was how important the roles of partnering and consortia are in the rapidly advancing autonomous automotive electronic field.
