Compunetics Obtains New MIL-PRF-31032 Certifications, Expands PCB Offerings
July 10, 2017 | CompuneticsEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Compunetics, Inc. is newly qualified by Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) (VQE-17-031349) to provide multilayer flex printed circuit boards per MIL-PRF-31032/3 & MIL-PRF-31032/4 certifications and standards. These qualifications, effective 5/4/2017, allow Compunetics to build flexible circuit boards with up to five layers.
Compunetics is certified to MIL-PRF-31032/1 and /2 for rigid PCBs for up 24 layers using FR-4 materials. Additional certifications include the capability to produce PCBs up to 18 layers composed of a mix of FR-4 and ceramic filled hydrocarbon material.
Compunetics is pursuing a new DLA qualification that would certify them to manufacture 14-layer rigid-flex boards. This certification acquisition is expected in the fall of 2017.

UHDI Fundamentals: A Primer on UHDI
09/28/2023 | Anaya Vardya, American Standard CircuitsThere has always been pressure to reduce line and space as we have seen the bleeding edge technology go from 8 mils to 5 mils and then to 3 mils. The difference between “then” and “now” is that the prior advancements, for the most part, used the same processes, chemistry and equipment going from 8 mils to 3 mils. But going from 3 mil to sub 1 mil trace and space is a quantum leap in printed circuit board (PCB) technology that requires a whole new set of processes and materials.

Rigid-flex Design Guidelines
09/27/2023 | Cherie Litson, CID+, Litson1 ConsultingRigid-flex circuits are unique structures; part rigid board and part flex, they’re increasingly working their way into many of the electronic devices we use every day. There have been many advances in rigid-flex lately as more companies find themselves exploring this technology. So, before I started writing this article about rigid-flex design, I double-checked a few things. Fortunately, there is plenty of rigid-flex information available on a variety of great websites that we all know and trust.
