Koh Young Demonstrates Smart Factory Solutions at the IPC CFX Live! Webinar

Reading time ( words)

Koh Young is a globally recognized a leader in the effort to rapidly implement smart factory solutions to help manufacturers reduce costs and improve quality. To that end, it is a proudly demonstrating the IPC’s Connected Factory eXchange (CFX) IoT messaging standard (IPC-2591) at a free IPC webinar.

On Wednesday, July 29, 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM CET (9:00 AM to 10:00 AM EDT) Koh Young, IPC, and other select suppliers will show the power and simplicity of CFX, the industry standard for machine-to-machine communication and data exchange.

During this one-hour event, attendees will see firsthand how CFX works on a typical SMT assembly line, with example messaging displayed on equipment dashboards. Four equipment vendors will discuss how CFX works with their equipment and the benefits to their customers and to the industry.

In addition to the virtual line demonstration, IPC CFX team members will be there to discuss the history and future of IPC-2591, the industry standard that guides CFX, as well as how to implement it in your equipment and factory lines for plug-and-play machine-to-machine communication and to enable your company for Industry 4.0.

Koh Young pioneered True3D™ measurement technology 20-years ago to create a zero-defect future. This gave rise to its KSMART process control software suite and its continuous efforts to leverage data and M2M connectivity. Using Artificial Intelligence to help automate process controls, KSMART focuses on data management, analysis, and optimization to boost productivity, improve quality, and minimize costs.

“Combined with IPC communication standards, we are opening the gates to a smart factory,” commented Ivan Aduna, MES Software Developer at Koh Young America. “These tools collect data from across the factory for defect detection, real-time optimization, enhanced decisions, and traceability to improve metrics, increase quality, and lower costs.” Complementing the IPC standards, Koh Young KSMART uses the latest AI-powered technology to help manufacturers realize a smart factory.” The Koh Young AI Platform applies real-time data to improve the production process by converting data into information and ultimately into process knowledge.

electronica Virtual 2020: Automotive Conference Keynotes

11/16/2020 | Pete Starkey, I-Connect007
While not the same as battling with the traffic to catch the early flight to Munich, followed by an S-Bahn into the city and a crowded U-Bahn to the Messe, electronica 2020 went virtual. Pete Starkey details the Automotive Conference—an event he was particularly keen to attend.

Real Time with… SMTAI 2020: Technical Conference Review

10/06/2020 | Real Time with...SMTAI
SMTAI 2020, which was converted to a virtual event, took place from September 28–30. I attend every year, but since there was no keynote in the virtual format, I went straight to the technical conference. This event covered a broad range of topics related to everything in assembly. Over 90 technical presentations are available, but this report covers just some of the sessions I attended.

Real Stories of Applied Advanced Analytics in the Electronics Manufacturing Smart Factory

08/26/2020 | Derek Ong, BscEE, Keysight Technologies
The smart factory is starting to become a reality, as part of the overarching Industry 4.0 paradigm. With the technology enablers, such as industrial IoT (IIoT) and cloud computing, electronics manufacturing operational technology (OT) are on a converging course with traditional information technology (IT). Beyond the challenges of data acquisition and transformation, the true “proof in the pudding” is in the quick ROI from advanced analytics. We will share examples of successful, profitable implementation of applied machine learning (ML) in the electronics manufacturing line, where measurement science meets data science.
