TT Electronics-IMS Facility Earns Nadcap Accreditation

TT Electronics Integrated Manufacturing Services (IMS) announces that its Fairford facility (formerly known as New Chapel Electronics Ltd) has received Nadcap accreditation for Electronics Cable and Harness Assemblies (AC7121). As Nadcap recognises IMS’ fourth global Nadcap Logomanufacturing facility for continual improvement and excellent manufacturing processes, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to the growing aerospace market by satisfying challenging customer requirements and aerospace industry specifications.

Following a stringent auditing procedure, the Nadcap process and product certification is awarded by the Performance Review Institute (PRI), the only auditing company approved by the aerospace industry to offer official certification audits.

In 2012, TT Electronics-IMS became the first company in China and the fifth worldwide to receive Nadcap accreditation for both printed circuit board assembly (AC7120) and cable harness assembly (AC7121). Subsequently, the company has continued executing a series of history making aerospace quality standard achievements - having achieved Nadcap accreditation in its factories across Europe, Asia and North America. With the recent award in its Fairford facility, TT Electronics-IMS is now one of only two companies in Europe to hold Nadcap certifications for both printed circuit board assembly (AC7120) and cable harness assembly (AC7121).

“We are proud to announce that IMS Fairford has received the company’s fourth prestigious Nadcap accreditation.  In addition to exemplifying the industry’s best cable harness manufacturing expertise, our team is incredibly passionate and dedicated to responding to the current and future needs of our aerospace customers,” said Mark Cook, TT Electronics-IMS Site Director.  “Our recent accreditation of the Fairford, UK facility strengthens our aerospace strategy by increasing our value offering to customers seeking enhanced global support and Nadcap accredited manufacturing processes.  TT Electronics-IMS provides our customers with the assurance that their products are built with strict adherence to quality, reliability and high performance safety critical standards.”

A leading, global contributor in the design and manufacture of electronics and system integrations, IMS attributes its success in developing business with many of the world’s leading aerospace and defence companies to a culture grounded by innovation, partnership, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The company’s latest Nadcap achievements demonstrate execution of an ongoing global quality roadmap designed to meet the needs of customers in the high reliability, high technology aerospace sector.

TT Electronics-IMS has focused heavily on integrating specialised capabilities and quality standards across its global facilities. In an effort to globalise the company’s cable harness offerings, the ABI (Smithfield, NC) and New Chapel Electronics (Fairford, UK) businesses have been integrated into IMS. These businesses bring a rich history of serving ruggedised aerospace and defence markets while expanding regional cable harness offerings in Europe and North America.

Throughout the year, TT Electronics-IMS will be hosting several “open days” at the Fairford facility in order to showcase its range of specialised capabilities including cable harness manufacturing and assembly. To learn more or schedule a visit, contact us here.

Solder Printing Process Inputs Impacting Distribution of Paste Volume

12/14/2017 | Marco Lajoie and Alain Breton, C-MAC Microelectronics
The volume of solder deposition, like any process, has variations that may be characterized by a statistical distribution curve, whether normal or non-normal. As complexity, density, cost and reliability requirements increase, there may be value in narrowing the distribution curve. It is common sense that less variation serves the interest of quality of the more complex and dense circuit boards.
