Official Opening of Enthone Shanghai Technical & Manufacturing Center

Over 100 Enthone customers, local dignitaries and employees recently gathered for the official grand opening of the Enthone Shanghai Technical & Manufacturing Center in Fengxian, mainland China. Event participants included many of the world's leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive, electronics, building hardware and surface finishing industries.
The Center represents a total investment that exceeds $30 million and encompasses over ten acres (42,000sqm). The campus includes a premier technology center, a raw material and finished goods warehouse, and an advanced manufacturing building.
Alent plc Chairman Peter Hill CBE addressed the guests and pledged the company's firm commitment to the China market. "This state-of-the-art facility will enable us to serve our customers more effectively in meeting the fast changing needs of their markets. We look forward to playing an active role in the local economy, and we are already thinking of expansion," he said.
The Enthone Shanghai Technical & Manufacturing Center is equipped to meet stringent OEM requirements for wear resistance, corrosion protection and decorative applications, as well as the continued drive toward miniaturization and shrinking devices geometries witnessed throughout the electronics supply chain. The Center features:
- Operational focus on safety and sustainability that anticipates increasingly stringent environmental regulations
- Computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) of chemistry that enables customers to manufacture products with optimum reliability, functionality and performance
- Applications engineering that is supported by pilot lines and prototyping technology
Staffed by the company's team of applications engineers, technical sales, and customer support, the facility also houses the Enthone Plating Academy. The Academy provides OEMs and applicators comprehensive classroom and hands-on training that addresses technology challenges and emerging industry requirements.
